Update on my Dad:

In just a few days (from 3-11 to today) he has come so far. As the chemo drug (Imbruvica) is flushed from his body, he is getting stronger and stronger. We don't know what is next, but we surely are glad to see him improving and hanging out with his best buddy Noah.

Dad, the Australian Cherry Ripes, Mint Kit-kats, Violet Crumbles and Chocolate Crinkles will go out tomorrow. Present from Jeff who wanted to share them with you and Mom (Nina Masten)

Update on my Dad:

He was able to come home today. Spoke with him about an hour ago and he is doing well - he sounds strong and is looking forward to sleeping in his own bed and being in his own house. :) :)

Thanks to Paulette Michele Murphy for averting another crisis... He was all set to go home but was waiting on one more test result. Doctor signed the discharge papers if the test was negative. A while later, he told him it was negative but for some reason it wasn't charted so the nurses said no go... he was staying. Paulette took charge, got the doctor on the phone, and got him discharged.

F' Imbruvica

March 10, 2016 at 6:38pm ·
Update on my dad:
So he has been off the chemo drug Imbruvica since Saturday and is finally doing much better.
He had the MRI of his shoulder yesterday (under sedation because the pain was so bad): Torn rotator cuff (old injury - and I'm going to guess that the Imbruvica somehow caused the tear to start bleeding). So physical therapy for that (rather than surgery).
Hopefully, he'll be able to go home tomorrow or in a few days! But I'll tell you this... that drug is bad news!
Not sure what is next for the CLL.. but one day at a time!

4.1 miles for you Dad. Sending lots of positive vibes for the MRI today. For your strength and health, for the skill and guidance of the anesthesiologist and the MRI tech, and for your doctors. Love you!
